President of the African Wildlife Foundation, an international conservation agency with a nearly 50-year history of protecting Africa’s wildlife and wild lands, Gichohi oversees operations in eleven countries. A leading figure in east African conservation, she earned her doctorate in ecology at England’s University of Leicester and was one of five panelists chosen to advise President Bill Clinton on African environmental issues in 1998.
